  • Pearls

For my designs I use cultured freshwater pearls. Freshwater pearls are usually cultured in freshwater lakes and ponds primarily in China, often with many pearls grown in one mollusk.

Natural and cultured pearls occur in a wide variety of colours. The most common being white and cream, but the colours extend to many different tones. Natural pearls form around a microscopic irritant in the bodies of certain mollusks. Cultured pearls are the result of the deliberate insertion of a bead or piece of tissue that the mollusk coats with nacre. Due to the organic nature of pearls, shapes and sizes do vary and they will also show some surface formation marks. That’s what I love about freshwater pearls! (They are organic, after all!).

Keishi pearls are known for their lustre, have a shimmering surface quality and are irregular in shape. The word ‘keishi’ simply refers to the pearl’s shape. They are grown spontaneously in the shell of a mollusk. I love them too!

  • Gemstones

I use a variety of semi-precious gemstones for their beautiful colours, shapes and sparkle! My champagne zircons and pink tourmalines come from Africa. My rock crystals and champagne citrines come from Brazil and my freshwater pearls come from China. I hope to use many more stones from all over the world.

My trusted suppliers of gemstones are environmentally and ethically minded and do everything they can to source responsibly.

  • Precious Metals

Gold vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a minimum of 2.5 microns of real gold layered over sterling silver. All of my findings which include clasps, jump rings and ear wires are 24k gold on sterling silver. Chains are a minimum of 18k gold on sterling silver.

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper.

The vast majority of the gold and silver findings are made from metal which has been recycled wherever feasible. However, as demand for gold and silver has increased the supply of recycled metals has decreased and manufacturers are hesitant to promise that every single gram is recycled.

All items meet the EU regulations regarding cadmium, lead and nickel.

  • Natural Silk

I use 100% pure natural silk which is perfect for stringing my gemstones and pearls. It's strong with very little stretch and has a beautiful soft and natural drape.

  • Eco-Friendly Packaging

My packaging is eco-friendly. All gift and postal boxes are FSC certified which ensures that all materials come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. My tissue paper is 100% recycled, is acid free, recyclable, biodegradable and compostable. The jewellery care cards have 50% recycled content and are also FSC certified.
